Thank you to everyone who recommended that I tryout for the Reflections touring drummer opportunity, y'all are the best.
This was by far one of the most challenging videos I've attempted (for a number of reasons) and wouldn't have been possible without the help of Kirk Baglia of Sand Run Records. He was able to work with me on short notice and produce both the audio and video on this.
The entire video is one visually unedited take with (very) minimal editing on audio, and was by far the most challenging song I've attempted to cover!
I debated on whether or not I would even throw my hat in the ring for consideration on this. Traveling the world and playing music has been a dream that I've been working towards for the better part of 10 years. When this opportunity came up, I knew that it was something I wanted to do and would never forgive myself if I didn't at least try. But am I anywhere near the caliber of player that a band like Reflections would be looking for? Was it a challenge that I was truly prepared for, or would be lucky enough to even be considered for? Interestingly enough, I was going back and forth with myself on this while listening to an episode of "Good For a Girl", Courtney LaPlante's podcast (seriously good podcast, btw). Her guest, Booka Nile of Make Them Suffer, brought up a very interesting point: people that had a dream opportunity that they never pursued tend to have more regret later in life than those that went for their dreams and failed. At that point I knew two things: 1. I had to at least try, and 2. The part of me saying I wasn't good enough can get lost. So, here's my attempt at "From Nothing!"
