PS - Here is some tips from one of my top students..
"If you want to rotobrush a human or object that doesn't have sharp edges (such as hair) using the normal rotobrush might give you poor results because it can't find a clear line. In this case AFTER already doing a draft roto, you can actually hold down left click on the rotobrush in the tools list rather than just clicking it and selecting the refine edge tool. This isn't a paintbrush, just go over the edges of the object that are rough and it will create a more detailed mask that also has transparency. A good tip is to press the buttons between the player and the timeline that remove the background, show you just the alpha layer (transparency), or onion skin. This makes it easier to tell what you are working on. VERY IMPORTANT: it wasn't shown in the video but when you are done using the rotobrush you should press the Freeze button to bake (lock in each frame) the clip. If you don't freeze it, watching your video in the normal workspace will be very laggy as it will constantly process the roto and load it into your cache meaning you will only be able to watch like 10 seconds at a time until maxing your RAM. Also the project will open much faster and keep it loaded always."
