Weaving two images together in Photoshop using layer masks and pattern fill
This short video is to document my process for the combining of two images together, one old colour image, and one new black and white image.
The joining of the two photos replicates some of my recent practice of physically cutting paper and weaving it together.
In this video I use Pattern Fill Layer to create a layer mask off and this allows some of the image on the layer above the background to be masked off whilst the rest goes transparent and allows visibiltiy of the background image.
I used OBS to capture the screen, Photoshop Creative Cloud and Final Cut Pro to put this video together.
If this process helps you out then I'm happy but it's not designed to be the easiest most efficient way of doing this and it's the first method I have worked out for doing this. If you know of other more efficient ways, please feel free to leave a comment below.
