Sim Racing vs Real Life - LMP3 at Hockenheim - What is the difference?
I will never see these beasts the same way again in the simulator!
Although the techniques and driving inputs are quite similar, the physical aspect is the biggest challenge in real life motorsports.
I was surprised how the tire temperatures in the Michelin slicks behave EXACTLY the same way to iRacing. Absolutely zero grip on brand new cold slicks, and for each scrub and temperature management, you can feel them getting alive under the car.
The G Forces are similar to the Radical in real life, but since this car is so much heavier, it's honestly difficult to believe what it can do. High level downforce trust is key to lap times on this car.
Low speed cornering is very similar to GT cars, surprisingly, and throttle application is just amazing with its 450hp.
Confidence was my biggest challenge but in my best laps I was able to show some of the potential performance we could get with proper track time and development.
