This week, our host catches Producer Alison in a scandalous act of betrayal! Also, we make a wheat beer into a cocktail! It's a lavender lemon shandy with vodka. Sound good?

At Sip On It & Spin, we try (not always very hard) to entertain you while you learn cocktail recipes and tips for making great drinks at home. We often include dry humor, bad jokes, and sometimes a sketch, whether you’re interested in that sort of thing or not. Our blog features the same weird approach in text form. The post for this recipe is here:

If you are just looking for a quick hit on the ingredients and instructions, our companion “shorty” video gets you what you need in about a minute:

-- Now for the part where I describe the video to the YouTube algorithm. If you're a human, there's no need to read this part because you can watch the video with your eyes. --

Well YouTube Algorithm, here we are again. We open on a serene scene. Producer Alison is kicking back on a pleasant afternoon having a tall glass of beer. Wheat beer by the looks of it. In fact, by the color and movement, it appears to be an Alagash White.

In the background, we see our intrepid host enter the scene. He seems…. upset. She’s drinking something that’s not one of the Sip On It & Spin blog cocktails!!! Oh the shame!!!

But wait, she can explain. It seems she’s doing research for a beer based cocktail. Well that’s a likely story. Op… he bought it.

Well now we’re going to really make this thing. Can a beer be in a cocktail? Sure! Lot’s of folks have done that before. This version is essentially a lavender summer shandy with vodka. Sound good?

First, one should make the lavender simple syrup. One must put equal parts sugar and water in a nice little pot. Then, one must add a bunch of culinary lavender. Once one has done all of these things, they then must stir and bring this to a boil. Now one can simmer the thing for a couple minutes, and let cool. This is where the lavender flavor really gets into the liquid. One should let the stuff steep for about half an hour. Then, fine strain into a decorative mason jar, one must do.

Now we make the cocktail. Vodka, lemon juice, and said lavender simple syrup go into a mixing glass. It should be shaken with ice to make it nice and cold. Now strain this into the… da da da duhhh… presentation glass. A rocks glass is good for this. Now pour some wheat beer in there. Yeah, wheat beer!

One can add a lemon wheel and, optionally, lavender flowers as garnish.

Ahh now we’re back outside enjoying our new cocktails with our host and producer. Now that they have some drinks in them, it’s time for a heart to heart. Beautiful the way these two make up.

Don’t stop watching yet, YouTube Algorithm, or you’ll miss the blooper at the very end. Ok now it’s over.
