is youtube even worth it?
YouTube doesn’t feel worth it anymore,
You ever do something for fun and it becomes really unfun? Yeah that’s what happened to me.
To make the money I make now as a software engineer through YouTube, you’d need to get pretty ignorant with the amount of content you need to make if you want live with a comfortable lifestyle, especially with kids.
According to Goldman Sachs research

, only 4% of creators make over 100k per year, which, ten ago was a lot, but now, in Seattle, that would barely pay my mortgage. So realistically if you were to want to do full time content creation and live near a high cost of living area, then you’d need to reach what I’m guessing is the 1% level.
