Laszlo Somi from Teams Engineering, our new Teams in GCC expert, discusses new Teams and answers customers questions to help your organization effectively prepare for new Teams. Microsoft wants to ensure your organization is prepared to fully switch to the new Teams.

• New teams transition timeline update for GCC customers: Laszlo informed the attendees that the current deadline is June 2024 and there are two paths: Microsoft controlled or admin controlled. He also announced a timeline adjustment for users who cannot install the prerequisites on time. 3:42
• Technical readiness for GCC customers: Laszlo explained the technical requirements and changes for each of the clients: Windows, Mac, Web and VDI. He also highlighted some features that are changing or deprecated in the new teams client, such as notifications, wiki, people app, search commands and appearance. 6:55
• Migration approaches and policies: Laszlo showed the different options for the new teams client update policy and advised the admins to stage the rollout in smaller batches and use group policy assignment. He also demonstrated how to deploy the client and how the end user settings will be migrated. 19:05
• Known limitations and recent service updates: Laszlo addressed some of the known issues and limitations with the new teams client, such as PowerPoint live, cross cloud guest access, live events, ADAL authentication and web tabs. He also shared some of the recent service updates and features that are available or coming soon. 26:02
• Q&A: Laszlo, Dave and Rocky answered some of the questions from the attendees, such as on-prem version of teams (no plans), mobile clients, outlook plugin, stale versions and sign language. 33:54
