How To Play Backups On PS3
So, I made this tutorial because I've seen a lot of people having trouble with loading backups on their PS3. They then give up on it, but they're actually only missing one thing out...
Here is a short, step by step tutorial:
1.) Copy your game from the disc over to your PS3 using the 'Copy' function in MulitMan. (you can use other managers, but I'm only familiar with MultiMan.)
2.) Once it's finished copying, find the game under the 'Games' list inside MultiMan, hover over it and hit SQUARE on your controller.
3.) A list of options will pop up on the screen. Now, this is the step that a lot of people miss out so please, make sure you do this. You need to jump down to the bottom, left-hand corner & select 'BD Mirror'. If you don't do this, you WILL get a black screen. Enabling this option does exactly as it says, it mirrors the backup game to the BluRay drive, tricking the console into thinking that the game you've loaded up is actually the one that's on the disk.
You may have worked this out yourself, but you need a BluRay game in the drive in order for this to work, as it uses the signature from the official disc to boot the backup game. (this is why it doesn't work with any old disk, or even BluRay movies.)
I hope this helped some people out, as I know a few people seem to leave out the BluRay disk mirroring step.
