SAU Violin Celebration X featured World famous YouTube sensation Rob Landes (who grew up as a Suzuki student!). He revisits his roots on stage with 400 young Suzuki violin students in Utah to share cultural music from around the world in high definition & surround sound.
Did you know that the best hard rock and heavy metal bands are based on classical Baroque music? Thunderstruck is one of the best examples of this influence. Listen to the beginning— do you hear a little Vivaldi? Listen to the middle — there’s Corelli. The old masters aren’t dead. Some of them found a rebirth in Australia when AC/DC hit the stage!
In fact, one of the most popular covers of Thunderstruck is done by a classical cello duo called “2 Cellos,” demonstrating its Baroque ties by setting the video in a Baroque concert and gradually turning up the distortion to sound more like the electric guitar we’ve become accustomed to. It has over 190 million views on Youtube alone.
