No one wants a dull and boring wedding reception! One way to celebrate is with dancing and getting your guests involved can be a lot of fun. Wedding dance floor games are a great way to get guests and the wedding party out of their chairs and on the dance floor!
It’s rare for wedding receptions to have no dancing. It has been com one of the essential traditions kept at most wedding receptions. Many people look forward to watching the couples “first dance” and the bride’s daddy-daughter dance.
Here is a wedding dance floor game that you can do at your wedding reception and are sure to be a hit with guests!
The Good Ol’ Chicken Dance.
While the chicken dance is very original, it’s a great way to get guests away from their tables. Most people already know how to do the chicken dance so it’s easy to break the ice and get people moving! Here is a fun twist you can add to the chicken dance.
Here’s how it goes. Before the wedding, you place a number under every chair (or you could put it on their place cards if you had assigned seating). Depending on the number of guests you have, the numbers could be only 1 and 2 or more, up to 5.
Your DJ will announce a number. For example, he could announce number 3. Each person checks under their chair to see their number.
Each person with a number 3 will head to the dance floor to do the chicken dance with the other 3s. Not only does this get people out of their chairs and on to the dance floor, but they’ll get to know other wedding reception guests they might not otherwise know.
