"Birthday 22 66" & "Deathday 22 66" by Bas Andriessen, march 21 2022
As I upload this video, which is 2 short clips in 1, it is about a week or so ago that I had my birthday 2022. For several years now I like to give birth to 'something' on that day, mostly a painting, sometimes music, sometimes a combi of these two. This year it is a combi in a video and it is even 2 clips in one because it is quite a historical birthday this year. Only 4 weeks before (february 24 2022) the horrific war between Russia and Ukraïn broke out with the brutal & criminal invasion of Russia in Ukraïn. That is the first time since Worldwar 2 that an European country is attacked by another country. So this years' birthday is also a deathday (the 22 is for the year we live in, the 66 is for the age I reached). Is was impossible not to have the war in mind in my attempt to give life to 'something' (artistic?) on this 66th celebration day of me beïng a resident of planet Earth.
