Youthful, April sunshine. Daily.
Old snow in parks melts away.
And the joyful swings are flailing,
Flipping, flying. Oh, they sway.
What could possibly be better?
Hearts are melting with pure glee.
Just the sky and wind. No nadir.
Just delight ahead for me.
Up higher than the spruce trees. No obstacles. Just awe.
The winged swings fly to high peaks. Hurrah. Hurrah. Hurrah.
They say childhood will stop. Ugh.
After all, that’s what we’re taught.
Soon, we’ll be adults with jobs, off
To wherever there’s a shot.
But we’re still just kids with playtime.
We still need to grow, you see.
