VALVES
About Valve:
Valves are used to regulate or control different parameters based on the requirement such as level, flow, temperature, pressure,etc...
Valves are operated by manually , pneumatic , hydraulic , electrically.
Valves vary in different sizes from 0.5mm to 60cm and some special valves can have a exceeding diameter of 5m
Types of Valves:
1. On/Off valve
2. Control valve
3. Manual valve
Based on valve body valves are classified into five types; they
are:
1. Ball valve
2. Diaphragm valve
3. Globe valve
4. Gate valve
5. Butterfly valve
ON/OFF VALVE
ON/OFF Valves are having only two positions , either ON or OFF, that means fully open or fully close.
For identification,ON/OFF valve consist of
• Body
• Actuator
• Solenoid
• Open or close Indicator
Different types of ON/OFF valves:
1. Globe Valve
2. Knife gate Valve
3. Butterfly Valve
4. Diaphragm Valve
CONTROL VALVE
One of the most common final control element is the control valve.A control valve restrict the flow of the fluid through a pipe at the command of an automated signal, such as the signal from a controller or a device(DCS/PLC)..
Control valves are used to control conditions such as flow, temperature, level, pressure by fully or partially opening are closing in response to signals received from controllers that compare a set point to a process variable.
The control valve consists of a actuator, positioner, body.
manual valve
Manual valves are fixed devices that are installed to begin/control/end the flow of liquids and are usually installed in industrial areas across the world. These valves require human intervention to be controlled thus the word manual.
