E.g. people generally go to Facebook, in order to get an update about what their friends are up to, while people login to LinkedIn in order to find new opportunities for their professional life, get updates about their industry, to make professional contacts and also to up-skill themselves in their domain.
So segregation of content and identifying the social media platforms that best suites you, is an absolute necessity when it comes to social media marketing, because it is quite evident that if you put out a job post on Facebook, it is not going to receive as much engagement, as it would have if you had posted the same on LinkedIn.
So understand your industry, understand the audience you are catering to, understand the type of content that you are willing to put out and then decide upon a social media platforms for that particular post, to receive better engagement and reach.
