Heparin consists of several fractions. There is low-molecular-weight heparin, which is represented by such drugs as, for example, Clexane and Gemapaxan, and there is regular heparin, not divided into fractions, which is much cheaper.
Low-molecular-weight heparin is easier to dose and requires smaller doses, however, as for the effect of heparin on the fetus, it does not matter much whether it is low-molecular or regular, unfractionated. In any case, heparin molecules are large enough, do not penetrate the placental barrier and therefore do not affect the fetus.
