Hybrid Rocket Test Eco Fuel First using Locally Sourced Beeswax & Rapeseed | NZ First
After months of waiting for the Fire Ban for Canterbury to be lifted, we headed out to the test site with our Rocket Chamber fuelled with an Eco Fuel Made from Locally Sourced Beeswax and Repeseed. The test went well, and we had a firing at 650 GOX PSI the result was 42.85kg of Thrust produced,. We also tested and were happy that the emergency Fire Extinguisher worked perfectly, and we were able to give a short blast to cover the area and then switch off. We had an issue with a one way valve, and had to disconnect the fill at high pressure, it worked very well, but I would have preferred the lower pressure, as its designed.
We are now ready to go again fairly quickly, as overall nothing was damaged.

Ive linked an older test in where we got 470Kg of thrust for 3 cylinders, using NOZ ( that’s just too expensive here in NZ to continue with unfortunately)
