Sequential Frame Animation in Photoshop
Frame-based animation, also know as sequential image animation is a sequence of still graphics played in a linear order. When played in succession the created effect is movement or animation. Now, this assumes there is some form of movement of one or more elements in each frame being played.
For this exercise you will create a frame-based animation using the elements from your Steampunk desktop web banner. Animated banners do not require a lot of moving parts to be effective. Simple can be both effective and efficient. Efficient, meaning the animation file is not large, file size wise. If color is reduced, the area of animation reduced, and the amount of frames reduced, then the overall performance should provide a good user-experience.
Keep in mind the users experience is a compromise of performance and art direction (quality). Speed and reduced latency is every bit as important as the artistic or aesthetic quality.
