Astro Down! [UTS Graduate Short Film]

This was my very first animated short made completely from scratch, with no pre-existing assets or characters, and it was pretty fun to work on! I did all of the animation and lighting, modelled and rigged the Stranded astronaut (the smaller one) and modelled a few environments as well.
May was in charge of character design, modelled and rigged Astro (the big guy), modelled the ship's interior and did all of the texture and material work!
We set out to make a corny 50s B-movie-styled short (complete with low-budget hanna-barbera zooms), and despite never having enough time to work on it as well as numerous last-minute changes, we somehow pulled it off, and for now I'm proud of the final result.

Produced in Autodesk Maya and rendered with Pixar's Renderman. Textures made in Photoshop and Substance Painter.
