This video will show you how to solve a system of equations by substitution when one of the variables is already isolated (video part II shows you how to solve when neither variable is isolated).

The four steps that I outline in the video are:
1) Isolate one of the variables in one of the equations
2) Substitute the expression that is equivalent to the isolated variable into the OTHER equation.
3) Solve the equation to find the value of the variable.
4) Use the solution you found in step 3 to find the value of the other variable.

The answer to the practice problem in the video is (3,-4)
