Differential feed is a serger feature that adjusts the speed of the feed dogs to control how the fabric behaves as it’s sewn. This can prevent wavy seams on stretchy fabrics, create gathers, and produce decorative effects like lettuce hems. To use differential feed, find the control on your serger and adjust the setting as desired. Be sure to test your settings on scrap fabric before using them on a project.
