Put your hands in the soil
It's the only way to divert from the turmoil
I'm heading back to the trees sitting dormant. Beneath these giants, trying to side step all the facts and the science. All this defiance, no no no get your hands back in the dirt.
Back to the trees
Back to the seas
Down on your knees
Put your hands in the soil
Kia ora. Today we unveil our next instalment of tunes with ‘HANDS IN THE SOIL’ ft Troy Kingi & Whirimako Black & ‘SHAPING GROUND’ ft. Nino Birch from Beat Rhythm Fashion.

This double A-side digi EP follows on from our single EP Never Too Late - We’ve Got This Gift from our soon to be released digi-album FOR ALL THINGS ALIVE DISC 1 - dropping on Oct 8th and FOR ALL THINGS ALIVE DISC 2 dropping Nov 5th.
Hands in the Soil - rhythm bed was recorded in Otautahi Christchurch with Whirimako Black adding vocals in our Whakatu studio in a session on the night of Richard Nunns’s tangi.
Troy Kingi added his vocals on the day Aotearoa was told we were heading into a second COVID lockdown making this the last tune to be finished on our 3 x 12 vinyl albums “Return To Our Kowhai”
This was followed by a round of 38 show postponements and cancellations over the summer of 2022 and the subsequent take down of our back catalogue because of youtube metadata AI.
Special thanks to Haza Bretherton for production, Scotty Taitoko for Trombone & Mark Russell for video footage.
