A one year old little boy swallow a lithium coin cell battery when playing with toys three days before. As her parents bring the girl to our hospital . We took it as emergency and removed the battery from esophagus by grasping foreign body removal forceps.
একটি এক বছরের ছোট ছেলে শিশু খেলনা নিয়ে খেলতে গিয়ে একটি গোলাকার আকৃতি ব্যাটারি গিলে ফেলে তিন দিন আগে। তার বাবা-মা মেয়েটি কে আমাদের হাসপাতালে নিয়ে আসলে, আমরা ফরেন বডি বের করার ফরসেপের সাহায্যে আঁকড়ে ধরে খাদ্য নালীর থেকে ব্যাটারিটি অপসারণ করি.

Procedure: Foreign Body Removal
Indication: History of accidental ingestion of battery 3 days back
Medication: Under GA
FINDINGS:
OESOPHAGUS: A blasted lithium battery is seen at the upper oesophagus 10cm from incisor teeth. The battery is grasped by foreign body forceps and extracted out. Review endoscopy shows large ulcerated and eroded mucosal surface.
STOMACH: Fundus, body & antrum examined. No food residue, foreign body or blood is seen. Multiple erosions are seen at the antrum. A naso-gastric silicone tube is placed into the stomach over a guide wire under endoscopic control.
DUODENUM: First (D1) & second (D2) part examined. No blood in the lumen. There is no suggestion of ulcer, erosion, diverticulum or duodenal scarring. No nodularity, tumor or polyp is seen. Mucosal folds in D2 are normal at endoscopy.
BIOPSY: Not taken.
COMMENTS: Foreign body (Lithium battery) in oesophagus (Please see the description also).
THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION: Foreign body (Blasted Lithium battery) removal and endoscopic placement of Ryle's tube done.
