A rewrite of Suzanne Vega's "My Name Is Luka", John's version tells the story of the Last Universal Common Ancestor - the individual single-celled being that can claim to be the last common ancestor of every lifeform currently alive on planet Earth.
This video was recorded at the Komedia, Brighton, during a performance of John's show Now That's What I Call A Lot Of Songs About Science, as part of Brighton Science Festival 2018.
The two camera angles were filmed by William Ranieri and Ellen Hinton.
