Κατανόηση της αντικοινωνικής συμπεριφοράς
Ο Δρ Κώστας Α. Φάντη είναι Διευθυντής του Εργαστηρίου Αναπτυξιακής Ψυχοπαθολογίας και Καθηγητής Αναπτυξιακής Ψυχολογίας στο Τμήμα Ψυχολογίας, στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Ολοκλήρωσε τις βασικές του σπουδές στο University of New Orleans της Αμερικής και τις μεταπτυχιακές και διδακτορικές του σπουδές στο Georgia State University της Αμερικής. Ο Δρ Φάντη είναι κύριος ερευνητής σε διάφορα διεθνή και εθνικά ερευνητικά προγράμματα που στοχεύουν στη μελέτη και την κατανόηση της ψυχοπαθολογίας σε παιδιά και έφηβους. Τα επιστημονικά και ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στο γνωστικό αντικείμενο της Αναπτυξιακής Ψυχοπαθολογίας. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, τη μελέτη των προσωπικών, περιβαλλοντικών και βιολογικών αιτιών της αποκλίνουσας συμπεριφοράς και ειδικότερα της αντικοινωνικής συμπεριφοράς σε ένα ευρύ ηλικιακό φάσμα από τη βρεφική ηλικία μέχρι την εφηβεία. Έχει δημοσιεύσει πάνω από 100 επιστημονικά άρθρα, βιβλία και κεφάλαια βιβλίων. Είναι κριτής σε διάφορα επιστημονικά περιοδικά και μέλος της συντακτικής ομάδας στο European Journal of Developmental Psychology, Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, και το Journal of Psychopathology and Behavioral Assessment. Είναι μέλος διάφορων επιστημονικών οργανισμών στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και Ευρώπη. Βραβεύτηκε για την επιστημονική δουλειά του από διάφορους διεθνείς οργανισμούς και τελευταίως παράλαβε το Jevon S. Newman Career Contribution Award από το Society for the Scientific Study of Psychopathy και το βραβείο ερευνητικής αριστείας από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Επιπρόσθετα, ο Δρ. Φάντη είναι ανάμεσα στους κορυφαίους επιστήμονες παγκόσμιος (2%), σύμφωνα με τη λίστα Stanford. Τέλος, είναι πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Ψυχολογίας, στο οποίο διδάσκει μαθήματα Αναπτυξιακής Ψυχολογίας, Ψυχοπαθολογία παιδιών και εφήβων, και αντικοινωνική συμπεριφορά.
Dr. Kostas A. Fanti is the Director of the Developmental Psychopathology Lab (DPL) and Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the Department of Psychology, University of Cyprus. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans, USA, and his Master and PhD from Georgia State University, USA. Dr Fanti is the principal investigator on multiple local and international grants investigating the development of child and adolescent psychopathology. His research and scientific interests have a developmental psychopathology and cognitive-neuroscience focus. Specifically, he investigates how individual, environmental, and biological factors influence maladaptive behavior and especially antisocial behavior from preschool to adolescence. His current research focuses on novel cognitive neuroscience informed treatments for children and adolescents at risk for conduct disorders. He published more than 100 journal articles, books and chapters. He is an ad hoc reviewer in multiple journals, and he is a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Developmental Psychology, Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, and the Journal of Psychopathology and Behavioral Assessment. He participates in various US, European and International organizations and scientific committees. Dr Fanti received multiple awards for his research, such as the Jevon S. Newman Career Contribution Award from the Society for the Scientific Study of Psychopathy and the University of Cyprus Excellence in Research Award. In addition, he is in the Stanford's Top 2% Scientists list. Currently, he is the chair of the department of psychology, in which he teaches courses on Developmental Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, and Antisocial Behavior.
