Lavalier Microphone System: Get Wired!

A lavalier microphone or lavalier (or lav or lapel mike) is a small electret or dynamic microphone used for television, theatre, and public speaking applications. Different than a hand-held microphone, it frees up your or your speaker's hands and still have the ability to be farther from the camera yet get good audio.
They come with small clips for attaching to collars, ties, or other clothing. The cord may be hidden by clothes and either run to a radio frequency transmitter in a pocket or clipped to a belt (for when your subject is moving), or directly to the camera or mixer - if your subject will be more stationary, sitting or standing still.
