Join Ambassador Chris Bee as he breaks down his emergency bow hunting kit of tools and spare parts that he brings on every extended hunt.
Chris Bee is in Utah with the SITKA crew walking through the archery emergency kit he carries anywhere his bow goes. This is the same compact kit he leans on for backpack hunts, Total Archery Challenge events, and remote trips where a quick fix keeps you shooting.
He starts with sight tapes and a small caliper to adjust for changes in poundage, string stretch, or feet-per-second, plus an HHA dial already set up so he can swap dials or overlay new tapes without losing his original marks. An extra rangefinder, spare screws for his Mathews, and a Mathews fail-safe bow press for Phase 4 cams help him deal with loose hardware, string work, or a crooked peep in camp.
From there, Chris shows how a few feet of d-loop material, an extra QAD rest, a tiny set of pliers, and a lighter cover everything from replacing a d-loop or rest cord to cleaning up fraying serving. He even packs a full backup string set with a peep already installed and tied in, plus an extra peep sight, multiple releases, a dedicated Allen wrench for top hats, serving material, and an extra ULTRAVIEW scope cartridge in case something cracks or jams.
On his bino harness, he keeps Allen wrenches for tightening stabilizer brackets, his primary release, rangefinder, binos, Blistex, an extra rangefinder battery, and another backup release and serving material for true in-the-moment emergencies. Whether it’s a remote moose hunt, an extreme mountain hunt, or a hunt of a lifetime, this one kit is all about confidence so you’re not worrying about your equipment and never have to second guess yourself.
