Robot to work with 2 different molds. Extract and stack;
Lid, core gated & Tub, cavity gated.
IML for lid 24 cavities stack mold
Critical Design Points:
Lid is extracted from the B&C faces of the mold. While tub is extracted from the A&D faces of the mold.
Stack a LDPE lid that is not designed for nesting.
Not enough space for all IML and product transfer and stacking mechanisms.
Robot in Action
The transfer unit is positioned on a servo module.
The stacking unit, traditionally positioned on the sides of the main arm module, shifted to the back of the Robot.
4 transfer arms. 2 on each side of the main module.
Spider legs – Imdecol solution for stacking. 4 short pins that contract around the lid on top of the stack and use as guides to position the lid that came out of the mold.
The lid IML mechanism may easily retract back, allowing space for the transfer arm of the containers.
The transfer arm contracts the distance between products, while in motion towards the stacking unit. Thus, allowing more products to accumulate on the conveyor.
The stacking unit is designed so it can work with both products without change over.
Cycle time is less than 6 seconds including change over time.
Robot change-over time is less than 12 minutes.
Imdecol has sold and installed several systems to Husky.
