Follow Manta's Progress Here -- / @willhibbardii2450 Legioneering's primary funded research and development for 2021 is now developing precision farming. The Manta VTOL Electric Aircraft is actually on the back burner. Happy New Year!
About Me... About 15% of my work was being produced in China prior to 2020. Since Covid, I'm 100% committed on totally manufactured in the USA @ commodity pricing. This in itself is very challenging.
The rapid technical knowledge during the past 40 years has primarily been converting the electric motor industry from commutator/s, which is a rotary electrical brushed switch in commutator DC electric motors and generators.
DC dynamos were the fashion for generating electricity in the 1800~1900 utilizing commutators and brushed switching
These brushed motors were converted to AC employment facilitating the need of a centrifugal clutch switch connected to a START set of windings to produce the torque needed to start of these type motors and time to the pulsed electrical angle to specific RPM designs of namely 1080/3200.
After the war of the currents, alternating current won! Mains power is the cheapest electricity and most dependable source of energy transmission.
DC Brushed/Commutator motor/generators were reemployed and converted to run on single phase AC power @ 50/60 Hertz that periodically reverses the current direction between the rotor and the external circuit.
These type AC brushed motors create ozone, that helped purify air-conditioned air in home, business and industry. However in certain environments with flammable vapors these type motors and contact controllers could provide an ignition source.
With three phase AC electricity the motor's rotating field eliminates the need for start windings, commutator and brushes. An inductor placed in the field naturally spins up to 1080/3200 RPM depending how the field is connected either in parallel or series. Simply by swapping two wires these motors reverse rotation.
Permanent Split-Phase motors are actually 50/60 Hertz 3 phase motors that operate on single phase AC employing a Run capacitor. They operate both on 120/240 AC Volts depending how the field wiring is connected. To facilitate 120 AC Volts operation the field windings are connected in parallel for 240 volt the field windings are connected in series. The capacitor is sized to control the amps and balance the KW output. In the motor industry these type motors are called Squirrel Cage Motors.
The first type of these designs was the introduction of the 3 phase motors to brushless electric motor designs and frequency of the alternating current controlled RPM.
Before frequency controllers, redundant application of other RPMs outside 50/60 Hertz of 1080/3200 RPM. Clock like gearing was employed to control the RPM Higher or Lower depending on the need.
With the development and introduction of frequency controllers we learned to program new motor designs giving new dimensions and adding horizons to Electric Motor Designers. New opportunities to employ accurate robotic drives that could be basically programmed to perform certain task that were once controlled by cams and switches.
Remote control, servos, chargers, etc., today all work with the latest processor technology, controlled by intelligent software. Rechargeable power sources, particularly the new LiPo cells, demand ever more powerful drive components, along with highly efficient and powerful SRM motors and controllers.
Driven by internal successes I'm asked continuously to work on improved electrical products and
refine manufacturing technologies, The MoGen 1.5KW system is proving unmatched Q factors, reliably, and is being reviewed for mass production with quality standards as an off-grid swimming pool pad pump system.
The Aircraft Electric Aviation Propulsion System designs are a result of combining many designed controllers for various applications since 1996.
While others guess about Frequency Controller Design, The MoGen adds a proven dimension to the SRM industry. I'm living the future doing more with less!
The oriental reactive motors have been a huge factor till 2021.
