How To Make a Magic Wand
In this video, I wood turn a unique Magic Wand that doubles as a Bottle Opener, and it even glows in the dark! Using Malle Burl and Ash wood, I turn this piece on the Harvey T60S wood lathe, with carbide tools from Easy Wood Tools for precision.
To create the glow effect, I did a double scorch on the Ash wood using the Dremel Versa Flame, then buffed a glow powder mixture into the grain using Microcrystalline Wax from Hampshire Sheen. The handle was finished with two coats of Citrus Burnishing Oil, also from Hampshire Sheen, giving it a smooth and polished look.
