Global Network of Learning Cities webinar ‘Empowering institutions and communities to drive lifelong learning for climate action’ - Arabic language version

On 21 August 2024, the webinar series: ‘Building green, inclusive and climate-resilient urban communities – the learning cities approach’ by the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, featured the webinar ‘Empowering institutions and communities to drive lifelong learning for climate action’.

This webinar focused on the empowerment of learning providers to promote lifelong learning for climate action as an essential component for the transformation towards more sustainable, climate-friendly cities. This pertains to a range of institutions – from early childhood care and education (ECCE) providers, schools and universities to adult education centres, community learning centres (CLCs), cultural institutions, museums and libraries, among others.

The webinar explored the diversity of approaches to implement lifelong learning for climate action and how institutions can be inspired and supported in their efforts. It will also consider the tools institutions need to advance concrete activities ranging from awareness-raising campaigns, upcycling and litter clean-ups to new mobility events and capacity-building workshops.
