Ruby Play Button? The Red Play Button! - Live YouTube Subscriber Counter
PewDiePie got a Ruby Play Button at 50M subscribers. A diamond play button at 10 million. You also get a gold play button at 1M and a silver play button at 100K. But you have to wait. The issue with that is that I’m impatient… so I made a custom red play button! This red play button acts as a live YouTube sub counter. That’s right! A live YouTube subscriber counter is built right into this! I made this custom YouTube reward myself, and I made this video so you can too! This is a DIY YouTube live sub counter with the ESP8266 that you can plug in at home at see how many subscribers you have in real time! You can also modify it quickly to make it a live Instagram subscriber counter! Use any paint to turn it any colour of course, a ruby play button? A platinum play button? How about a hot pink play button?! I hope this is a great video tutorial for making this YouTube reward. More details are below.
For this project, I used a Creality 3D CR10 3d printer to print the play button. I sanded it and gave it a coat of paint. The brain of this creation is the ESP8266 though. This is a cool little ESP8266 project that uses Wi-Fi and google API to get the YouTube sub count. Hook it up to the LED display, and the esp8266 will do all the work, I sort of explain this as a esp8266 tutorial too.
