One of our favorite alternative deck framing systems. Fortress Evolution Steel.
This is a flexible system with alternative components and installation methods. We are utilizing the 2x6 joist and adjustable stair brackets as our stringers, and applying the adjustable tray for our tread and railing substructure.
This video explains and shows the process of framing deck stairs with steel framing.
We will cover the math behind rise, run, and hypotenuse for a stringer using Pythagorean theorem and a Construction Calculator.
The stair system can be used to install any type of decking, including composite, pvc, hardwood, pine, thermally modified, and many more. We even have started to use exterior porcelain tile on steel framing.
This is a one and done system, galvanized steel with a black sand powder coat finish, and comes backed by a 25 year limited warranty.
We frame wjth steel for a strong, flat, consistent deck substructure that won’t rot, splinter, crack, or mildew.
It’s also extremely aesthetically appealing with a beautiful modern look.
