How To Transfer Photo To Wood
Hey guys and gals! On this weeks edition of BS with AJ I show you how to transfer an image or a photo onto wood! Its actually a really simple process, but it does require a bit of patience!

This is a really simple project that is well worth the work you put into it, which isn't much lol. First you will need to find your piece of wood and an image or picture you would like to transfer onto that piece of wood. Now you will need to use a Laser Jet Printer for this project. I don't recommend using a standard ink jet printer because it could bleed or look really faded. A laser jet printer uses toner in place of ink and it comes out looking really crisp!
Not that you have your wood and the image you want to put onto it, you will need to use your computer to flip the image to where it looks backwards. The reason for this is that you will be placing the image face down so if you have the image flipped already it will come out looking the way it was meant to look.
Now you will need to clean off any dust or debris off of your wood, be sure it is really clean or it will be permanently dirty lol. Next you will brush a thin layer of your water based polyurethane onto the wood. And then you will place the image where you would like it to be on your wood. Be sure to use a squeegee to get all the air bubbles out or it may leave little holes in the finished product!
Now comes the hard part, waiting for it to dry lol. Be sure and follow the directions on the can of water based polyurethane for the dry time, mine said to wait 2 hours so that's what I did.
When it is dry you need to get a small container and fill it with water. And take your toothbrush (not the one you use in the mornings lol) and slowly and easily begin to rub off the paper ( as shown in the video) Keep going until you image shows through.
Now all that is left is to dry off your board and add another coat or two of the water based poly as a protective coating over your project!
