POS Text Camera Overlay & Recorded Text Search on Viewtron Security Camera System
Viewtron security camera systems support POS text overlay on top of recorded video surveillance. This allows business owners to record all of text from their point of sale transactions on their camera system. It is most typical to overlay the text from a cash register on top of a security camera that is monitoring that particular register / POS terminal. POS integration is supported by Viewtron BNC camera DVRs and Viewtron IP camera NVRs.
Viewtron camera systems support POS text integration using two methods.
1) The POS system can send the transaction text to the DVR / NVR over the local area network using TCP/IP or UDP. The POS terminal and the security DVR are connected to the same network, typically via a network router.
2) CCTV Camera Pros supplies a RS-232 printer port to Ethernet converter that captures the POS text from a printer port on the cash register and sends the text over the local network to the DVR / NVR. You can find CCTV Camera Pros RS-232 to Ethernet converter box here.

The text overlay from the POS system is displayed in real time on the live view of the camera system and is also recorded. Business owners can easily search for all of the POS transactions on their DVR. You can also search for specific text. For example, if you want to search for a certain type of sale or other event that your POS outputs, you can search for the product or text that notates that event.
In addition to being able to view POS transaction on Viewtron DVRs and NVRs, you can also view them remotely on the mobile app for iPhone and Android.
