Pantera Limo Update: A New Level
Enrique and his team of badasses at Platinum Big Toys in Corona, CA are working fast & furious on Vinnie’s limo. First they had to gut the insides, then they cut out both rotted & rusted sides, and completely replaced them with new (reinvented) steel. They cut out new window holes that match the size of the original ones, and replaced the top side inside steel support braces with a new stronger than all one.
From the original 2001 model, we’re keeping the front and back ends, the bottom and the roof can be saved as well. EVERYTHING else is being replaced and will be brand spanking new. Enrique is going to do all new electrical/AC systems, make the limo street legal, new lighting, custom bar, leather seating with CFH embroidery, stainless steel diamond cut ceiling, and more!
My brother Josh from Dean Guitars / DDRUM is sending me a Dime guitar and a VP custom snare to incorporate into the inside of the limo. I got to start thinking about speakers and amps next, hopefully I can get a discount or donated gear from some cool company that wants to be part of Metal history (wink wink/cough cough).
As you hear Enrique say, next stop is his body shop where it’s going to get transformed into its new level of confidence and power. We’re going to keep it white so I can constantly drive around blasting Foo Fighters’ “White Limo” over and over again!!! I know Dave will appreciate it, and can’t wait to have HIM inside this as part of my upcoming new interview series that I plan on starting, talking to friends/peers/family about Pantera and beyond!
I’m still a bit away from the goal needed to do this restoration on Vinnie’s limo, so soon I’ll let you know what we’re going to do to bridge that gap. This is a way more costly project than we first anticipated, but I believe one way or another we’ll get this Pantera museum on wheels back on the streets roaring the way the Abbott brothers would!
