Laboratory apparatus
In every experiment, we need to use apparatus that will make our work a fair test. Today, we are going to identify some of the laboratory apparatus and give its uses.

Cambridge dictionary says,
“Laboratory apparatus are the most common utensils and appliances that you need while performing hands-on activities in a laboratory.”
These are some of them.
When transferring liquids into containers with small opening, we need the filter funnel. It is also used in filtration process when solids are separated from liquids by using paper.
Chemicals in small amount are contained in a test tube. This is also used when mixing or heating liquids or solutions.
When boiling liquids during an experiment, we use the boiling tube. Boiling tube is bigger than the test tube.
We need an apparatus to contain chemical and collect or hold liquids. We use a beaker for this purpose.
When we want to collect gas from mixing and containing chemicals, we need this apparatus. This is the conical flask.
We also separate substance from a solution by evaporation over a Bunsen burner. We need an evaporating dish.
In heating solution in a beaker, we need a wire gauze to spread the heat of a flame. It also serves a support beaker heated by a Bunsen burner.
In a heating set-up, a supporting apparatus is needed. This apparatus is the tripod stand.
Volumes of liquids substances need to be measured; we need the measuring cylinder.
When adding volume of liquid drop by drop, we need a dropper
We need to stir chemicals in the laboratory. The apparatus we need is the glass rod.
When heating or boiling, test tubes need to be taken out. The apparatus that holds the test tube is the test tube holder.
These are some of the common laboratory apparatus.
