This week I discuss GRUB, init, and systemd. Settings within the file /etc/default/grub are used to build the /boot/grub2/grub.cfg file. We cover some of those settings in this video including GRUB_SAVEDDEFAULT, GRUB_DEFAULT, GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET, and GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX.
Also we review the 7 run states and do some comparison of init and systemd related to these run states including multi-user client, multi-user server, graphical, and reboot.
Thank you for keeping in touch. I am happy to hear that the book and these tutorials are helping people pass the exams and get certified! It is so tough getting a job these days, and everyone needs that edge. Follow me on twitter, and facebook @jordanteamlearn
