If your phone isn’t working and it displays a message such as "No Service" or "Not Registered", there are a few simple things you can try that may quickly get your phone working again.

The first thing to try is rebooting your phone. To reboot your phone, turn the phone over. Unplug the DC power jack from the back of the phone. Wait a few seconds and then plug the power jack back in.

It’s possible that the phones in your office do not require DC power, in which case you should unplug the network cable and then plug it back in to reboot the phone.

Wait a minute or two for your phone to go through its startup sequence.

If your phone is still not working, check the network cable connection on the back of the phone. Make sure there is a cable plugged into the jack that’s labeled Internet.

Also confirm that the network cable is plugged into a wall jack in the area of your desk.

Note that connecting a cable from a WiFi-connected laptop to your phone’s internet jack will not work.

If you have rebooted your phone and verified the connections, but the phone still does not work, press the OK button in the middle of the silver colored ring.

If your phone does not display an IP address, contact your IT support person. Or, if Fortis handles your IT support, contact the person at your company that normally logs support Tickets with us. The problem may be a bad or missing connection to your wall jack. It could be a bad cable.

If your phone displays an IP address, that means it has a good connection to the network, but that there’s an issue that a Fortis phone tech will need to resolve.

If this is the case, please contact Fortis tech support at 916-235-4200, option 2 or email [email protected]. Explain that you can see an IP address in your display after pressing the OK button, but that the phone is not working properly. A phone tech will then work with you to resolve the issue.
