On April 1, 2021, a mysterious incident occurred in the town of Samut Sakhon, southern Thailand, where a dog died after sniffing a vehicle's tire.
The unfortunate pet, named Nom Yam, was very curious. A security camera located near the scene captured the moment when the dog approached a gray pickup truck parked outside a store and began sniffing the vehicle's rear tire. Suddenly, she jerked her head back and began jumping and shaking, as if having a seizure. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck simply drove away without warning anyone or taking any care of the poor animal.
A couple of dogs who were at the scene approached to see what was wrong with their friend and began to cry, which alerted Mrs. Pranom Niamnak, the dog's owner's aunt. She told media in her country that she initially thought it was a game, but when she saw the dogs were still crying, she went to check and saw the dog in agony, so she ran for help.
Samart Niamnak, the dog's owner, rushed to help, but it was too late; his pet was no longer showing any vital signs. With great sadness, they buried her in the back of their store.
He explained that his pet was 3 years old and very healthy. At first, he thought she had been run over, but he didn't dwell on his doubts and reviewed his security camera footage, which captured the incident.
The exact cause of the dog's suffering is unknown at this time, but several veterinarians in her country believe the sudden action of the animal could have occurred after a snake bite, such as a cobra, which attacked the poor animal's nose, causing its death within minutes.
