Tailgate Night Runners: Running the Sulphur Springs 100 Miler
Meet the Tailgate Night Runners (TNR): A group of 5 eclectic guys who enjoy running, goofing off, and cracking a cold beer after a night on the trails.
The TNR are no strangers to long-distance running. With several 50kms, 100kms, and a handful of 100 milers under their belts, they collectively decided to take on a 100 miler as a group. On May 28th, the gang banded together to conquer the Sulphur Springs 100 mile trail race. The group ran all day, all night, and into the morning with the hopes of finishing before the 30 hour cut off.
With the promise of suffering and fatigue, the guys took on the 100 mile race like champs. Chaffing, hunger, nerve/muscle pain, and a constant yearning to quit nagged at the group's ability to push through. But despite the challenge, the remained resilient and pushed to their respective finish lines.
