I learn to ride deer in my blind playthrough of Rain World. Or rather, I've learned that it is possible to ride deer and I still require some practice and discovery to truly learn how to ride these things. The developers of Rain World have a lot of trust in their player base; the game offers next to nothing in terms of hints or tutorials, simply the expectation that you, dear player, are going to figure it out. I'm happy I did, or sort-of did, but I could easily imagine never learning to become a cowboy.
