Platformer Challenge 4 has ended and it's theme was: MOTION-INDUCING PLATFORMS. Join Platformer Challenge 5: https://itch.io/jam/platformer-challe...
The music and sound effects on all of the games seen in this video have been muted so that you can hear my voice. To play the games featured: https://itch.io/jam/platformer-challe...
How are the scores calculated on itch.io?
The raw score is what the game has actually been rated by people. If the number of ratings for the game has received equal or more than the median then the score is equal to the raw score
The score is a relative number and exists because not every game has the same number of ratings so to balance things out more fairly it takes into consideration the number of ratings as well as the raw score. If the number of ratings for the game has received less than the median then the score was equal to this formula: Score = raw score * square root(number of ratings / median) To see a breakdown of the results of Platformer Challenge 4: https://itch.io/jam/platformer-challe...
The rating question was only on one aspect of each game and that is how good are the motion-inducing platforms.
Ratings were made by submitters and myself. The feedback I give is based on my opinion and I'm sure other people will have different opinions and better ideas. It is a game jam so time is limited, everyone has different time commitments, everyone joined the game jam at different times so I don't expect any game to be finished or be bug free. Also, everyone is at different stages on their game development journey and are learning how to make or do new things and the true challenge is what you set for yourself
