Hula Hoop Counter With Neopixel String and Parallax Propeller (Christmas 2018)
Here's a short video of a project I made for one of my daughters as a present for Christmas 2018.
This project, code named "Super Hooper 3000", is a hula hoop which combines a Neopixel light show and a rotation counter. At its heart is a Parallax Propeller Mini board. The board uses a Parallax Tilt Switch sensor to count each rotation as well as light the Neopixel strand with interesting patterns. I added some beads to the inside of the hula hoop to provide some extra stability.
For the power supply, I'm using an Adafruit PowerBoost 1000 charger hooked up to a small lipo battery.
