CRF500L Build Ep.2 – Getting the CBR500R Engine Running Before the Swap
Before pulling this engine for the CRF500L build, I wanted to make sure this thing actually runs! In this video, I’m getting this Honda 500 running for the first time after sitting. I’m charging the battery, draining the old fuel, adding fresh gas, and attempting a first start to make sure the engine is healthy before it gets pulled and swapped into my CRF300L. Quick clarification: this donor bike is a Honda CBR500R (not a CB500X as mentioned previously). The engine platform is the same across the 500 models, but I’ll be calling it the CBR500R going forward.
