We begin the tour with the opening ceremony (entrance of the hosts), then we will enter the premises of different beer brands, touring the grounds and enjoying the first day of this spectacular and fun festival. The Oktoberfest has been held between September and October in the Bavarian capital of Munich since 1810. It is the largest volksfest (regional festival) in Germany and one of the largest folk festivals in the world, with an average annual attendance of over six million.
It lasts 16 to 17 days, starting in mid-September—always on a Saturday—and ending on the first Sunday in October. Only if the German Unity Day holiday (October 3) falls on a Monday is the Oktoberfest extended by one day, lasting 17 days in total.
It is held on the field known as Theresienwiese ('Therese's Meadow'), near Munich's central station, close to the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station).
