THE COMING INTO UNION || Pst Adeshina Akorede
Dear Fellow Minister,
THIS IS COMMUNION! - "TAKE, EAT; this is MY BODY which is BROKEN for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
At the communion table, the Lord established UNITY IN DIVERSITY as the outlook for ministry.
In this very spiritual, significant and symbolic meeting, He took bread, broke it, and gave the broken parts to the disciples with an instruction '"Take, eat; this is My body which is [e]broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
There are many lessons here for us ministers:
1. The bread representing His body was broken into many parts-there will always be many streams and flows in the body of Christ, deliberately the Head of the church BROKE THE BREAD FOR US.
2. Diversity and differences in doctrine and expression were well incorporated into the body by the Lord Himself; this is not in any way disadvantageous; it is our greatest strength that the body was broken for us.
3. That means every disciple tasted a different part of the same bread, yet it is one. Be careful in thinking that the part of the bread given to you is the only part of the bread in existence...
4. What causes divisions, strife and in fightings in the body is the lack of understanding that the bread I broken and given to as many disciples as were on the table, so your piece is NOT THE ONLY PIECE.
5. The moment you begin to judge and castigate other 'bread expressions' judging them that they are not 'WORDED' or 'SPIRITUAL' not based on the whole counsel of God but on the piece of the slice you received, you need to retrace your steps and DISCERN THE LORD'S BODY.
6. The beautiful about UNITY IN DIVERSITY is that it is ONE BREAD but many SLICES.
7. To do otherwise from these lessons from the communion table of the LORD is to refuse to take, eat what was broken for us, and NOT DOING THINGS IN REMEMBRANCE OF HIM…
8. This is how the Lord wants to be REMEMBERED…A consciousness of the truth that none of us has got the whole bread, He is the bread and is broken for us….so no one has a complete revelation, we need ourselves, and we must DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF HIM I.e HOW HE GAVE EACH ONE A PIECE OF HIMSELF AND NOT THE WHOLE PIECE... #Selah
