1 Street, 4 Cameras, 8 bins, 1 Shot: Enviro NZ Side Load Collecting Wheelie Bin Residential Waste
Part 3: I tried to do something a little different and special with this video and location. This uniquely shaped and long cul-de-sac has 8 bins which are serviced by Enviro NZ.
To cover the length of the street, I used action cameras scattered along the way to not miss any of the action while remaining stationary in one part of the road and using focal zoom on my good camera to allow for a continuous point of view on one long street.
The action cameras give some cool and unique low angle footage which would otherwise not be captured without putting oneself in danger of being run over or hit by a bin with the driver not seeing you. (Do not try getting these low action shots yourself by holding the camera).
I hope the owner and operator of this truck is pleased with how this footage came out; was a bit of work to film and to stitch the clips together into one video.
The truck featured today is registered as a 2016 HINO 500 and was a New Zealand new vehicle imported in 2016 from Japan.
Speaking with the driver, I found out that he is the owner of this vehicle and is an independent contractor who is contracted by Enviro NZ to collect their bins. This is super cool and is possibly not too common these days within New Zealand, but I am sure there are benefits to both the driver and the company for this kind of business model.
Enviro NZ recently has undergone a rebranding exercise. As featured on this truck with the older design, they were once known as "Enviro Waste". This name change has helped combine many different business units all under one brand name.
