POLKABRIDGE LAUNCHPAD: THE IDO JOURNEY SO FAR
PolkaBridge, The first decentralized bridge between Polkadot platform and other blockchains, announced the launch of the first iteration of its initial decentralized offering (IDO) single chain launchpad on the 9th of April, 2021.
IDO is a fundraising approach that pools investment capital from retail investors, It is a novel crowdfunding technique that allows crypto projects to launch their native token or coin via decentralized exchanges (DEXs).
PolkaBridge Launchpad v1 allowed even average users to invest in promising concepts at an early stage and allowed the founders / developers of the project to easily access capital. But, it was limited to a single blockchain — Ethereum.
The desire to keep improving and innovating led to the launch of the multichain Launchpad v2 — a reimagined and redesigned concept for investing / fund raising from PolkaBridge, introducing several new significant upgrades.
The upgrades include:
Launchpad v2 integrated support for four blockchains — Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon and Harmony. In the future, there are plans to add support for Cardano, Solana and Polkadot also.
On the user interface, significant upgrades were also introduced. Initially, The v1 launchpad featured mostly simple colors and static background design. However,the new launchpad displays more information on how to use the launchpad and has clear instructions for teams looking to raise funds.
Although access is dependent on various factors, the Launchpad v2 still has public and private pools.
An account needs to stake around 500–3000 to be eligible for IDO participation.
There are two rounds for every initial decentralized offering (IDO) featuring public and private pools. The first and the main round is for users staking PBR, who are entitled to receive the lion’s share of the allocation.
If the first round fails to sell out, the IDO proceeds to the public round, where everyone is allowed to participate.
All interested participants in the PolkaBridge IDOs must note the following new conditions for gaining access to the private pool:
No need to whitelist or hold PBR in wallet, just join staking with conditions:
Need to stake a minimum amount of 500 PBR
If the maximum individual allocation for IDO is $300, then
If Staking from 500 PBR — 1499 PBR tokens, you will have 100$ allocation
If Staking from 1500 PBR — 2999 PBR tokens, you will have 200$ allocation
If Staking more than 3000 PBR tokens, you will have 300$ allocation
