Welcome to Stilton 4K
Welcome to the Village of Stilton in Cambridgeshire: the birthplace of Stilton cheese. Made with penicillium roqueforti to give it its distinctly blue veins and one of its distinctive flavour profiles, Stilton is now produced in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire but not, oddly enough, in Stilton itself. Some of the locals are not terribly happy about this.
The Bell Inn, however, is definitely Stilton Central. It's where Stilton was first served. It is also, as almost an incidental point, haunted by the ghost of Dick Turpin. It is one of the joys of living in the UK that almost every historic place you go has a haunting. We take some considerable pride in our ghosts and are rarely frightened of them.
So, take a trip to The Bell Inn, order a pint of Mad Monk and a big taster plate of cheese. You won't be sorry.
