1999’s Tanaka pitts the player against up to seven other sci-fi vehicles upon the ‘streets’ of Tanaka city. Equip your craft with the right engines, weapons and shield, and try to survive in the fastest 3D racer that the Mac had seen up until this point.
YesterYear’s Mac Games takes a look at how this retro 3D title has held up, and if this futuristic racer is worth re-visiting. Boasting crisp 3D visuals without the need for a video card, Tanaka boasts a campaign, fully customisable races, and networking options for multiplayer fun.
While the Macintosh version is archived and available to download for old machines and the SheepShaver emulator, a full copy of the Windows version has yet to surface
